A special treat for dark chocolate lovers or those in regular need of something sweet but not too sweet (a frequent predicament of mine!). This sourdough bread contains cocoa powder which gives the crumb its deep brown colour whilst a generous helping of dark chocolate drops, fresh orange peel and roasted hazelnuts impart a well balanced combination of flavours and textures. Note that the dark chocolate we currently use contains soya lecithin but we are working hard to find a cost-effective replacement with only natural ingredients (ie cocoa in various forms, cane sugar, vanilla).
This is a smaller loaf than usual which comes at 500g+. It is baked either as a round loaf or in a bâtard shape (oblong, like my breads) depending on my bannetons' availability.
Ingredients (allergens): wheat flour, cocoa powder, sultanas, hazelnuts, chocolate drops (cocoa, sugar, soya lecithin, vanilla flavouring), orange zest, water, salt.
May contain traces of sesame and nuts other than hazelnuts.
