Sultana & Hazelnut levain
This is our regular "fruit and nut" bread. Fairly white but not too white (it also has wholegrain wheat and rye flour) this is a good bread to eat on its own, with a thin layer of butter, or with cheese. If you are imaginative you can pair it with your favorite topping for an open sandwich too. The fruit is soaked overnight so that it retains moisture once baked and the nuts are roasted before half is ground and added to the levain whilst the rest is added to the final dough for a bit of crunch.
Ingredients (allergens): wheat flour, rye flour, sultanas (include sunflower oil), hazelnuts, water, salt.
May contain traces of sesame and nuts other than hazelnuts.
