Good morning all,
I am planning to finish this summer's bake with 3 favorites on Tuesday and in order to allow enough time for my preps I am bringing FORWARD the order deadline to Sunday 5PM please! What better day to send out next week's menu than this Friday which looks as if it might be the best day of our summer yet?! Tuesday 4 August: Pan Marino, Wild West in large size only, my Cornish saffron bread. Very happy to take large orders for those of you who want to (continue) stock(ing) up for August. I hope you all have a good holiday and I'll be looking forward to baking again on 4 September 2020. Emma (& Jules!) Next week will be the last full week of baking with only one bake left on the following Tuesday before a 4-week break. With some of my regulars on holiday I've had more time and went on an adventure to Linton on Wednesday where I was at last able to sample produce from the wonderful Jigsaw Bakery, including the first of two very tasty Bakewell tarts I had this week (other one was at the Stove in Bourn). I've also revisited old recipes and I'd like to share one of my favorite sweet-ish treats with you, so this week we will have: Wild West Tuesday with Wild West in standard or large size and Rugbrod (half or whole). Please order by Monday 1PM. Friday and Saturday: as Tuesday plus Pain de Campagne (standard or large size), Walnut bread and as a Friday special: my Banana bread, available in plain or gluten-free version (see below for ingredient list). £8 for a whole cake (850g+) or £4 for half one. Please order by Wednesday 5PM
Good morning Comberton and visitors from further afar!
thank you for a good week last week and here is what will be baking in my kitchen this week as the summer holiday gets underway (if you dont want to receive the menu email whilst you are away please let me know): Tuesday will be Pain de Campagne (standard or large) and Rugbrod (half or whole). Please order by Monday 1PM. Friday/Saturday: as Tuesday plus Poppy & Sesame, Sultana and Hazenult levain and (Friday only) my Lincs plum bread. Please order by Wednesday 5PM. I have a few jars of honey left, set or runny, which can be added to a bread order on any day. Update: I've now sold out of honey. More in September Make the most the week, whatever it/the weather brings and I look forward to seeing you soon! Emma Buying local honey is one of the many food-related things that excite me so I'm pleased to announce that West Street Bakehouse is now selling set and runny honey from a local beekeeper in Milton. Each jar weighs 454g and retails at £5.75. Click here for full product description.
Morning All,
After the usual ups and downs in the bakery (never a dull moment) we are on to a new week with: Tuesday (Bastille day!): Wild West in standard and large size. Order by Monday 1PM. Friday and Saturday: making it a fruity day with Fig & Fennel, Lemon & Barley and Olive & Rosemary. Plus NYDR and Rugbrod (half or whole) and Wild West again (standard or large). Order by Weds 5PM. NEW: we are now selling honey from a local beekeeper alongside our own breads. Holiday: I'll close in August. Last bake: Tue 4 August 2020; first bake back: Fri 4 September 2020. Morning all
Another good week in the bakery last week with two bumper bakes on Tuesday and Friday/Saturday. This left little time for much other than baking and the associated cleaning and admin AND a magnificent bike ride on Wednesday near Saffron Walden which was the perfect pick-me-up. As for this week we will have: Wild West Tuesday with Wild West in standard or large size. Order by Monday 1PM please. A lot of choice on Friday and Saturday as I'd like to mop up the small leftovers of special flours before a potential summer break so it goes: Wild West Heritage (khorasan), Barley & Ale, [Pan Marino (SORRY SOLD OUT)], Pain de Campagne (standard or large), Rugbrod (half or whole). And on Friday only: my Lincs plum bread, my Cornish saffron bread. Order by Wednesday 5PM for bread at the end of the week. Prepay customers please can you make sure you transferred your £s by the deadline of the day for which you are ordering bread. For a Friday loaf for instance, this means paying by Wednesday 5PM please. This allows me to need to check only once! |
